WHAT IS THE CAPITAL AREA SOCCER CLUB?

The Capital Area Soccer Club (CASC) was started in February of 1997 by a group of individuals determined to provide area players with more opportunities to enjoy the sport of soccer, both recreationally and competitively. Since that time the club has organized both Spring and Fall teams for boys and girls of all ages. The Club is affiliated with Soccer Maine, which has a membership of nearly 16,000 players. In 1998 CASC became a member the Capital Area Recreational Association (C.A.R.A.). C.A.R.A. is a non-profit organization responsible for one of the finest recreational complexes for players in the State of Maine. In 1998 CASC also was granted permission by C.A.R.A. to construct three soccer fields on the Piggery Road in Augusta, adjacent to the Pine Tree Arboretum. It was the goal of the Soccer Club to build three of the finest soccer fields in the State of Maine. The fields were built primarily by volunteers and according to the newest technology available. Thanks to area businesses and civic organizations this exciting project is now complete and operational. The soccer club to date has already raised over $120,000 dollars towards a goal of $150,000. The Club supports over 300 Rec. and Travel Players and hosts all Cony High School, Girls and Boys soccer programs, games and practices.
